The 2021 annual meeting was conducted via online Zoom on January 21, 2021 at 7 pm and it seemed to be adequate for interaction with those who joined. Bill Needham reported that Linene Woods continues to be a desirable neighborhood and the board is committed to keeping it that way. The past year saw two new houses completed and occupied, and one sold. Currently there is one house on the market, one in the process of closing, and one vacant lot for sale.
Bill noted that the work of the association depends on volunteers and he expressed appreciation to the board members and others who help with various tasks. He especially acknowledged the work of secretary-treasurer Claire Mazur who handles a multitude of responsibilities.
He reminded that dues ($165) are now payable and can be sent either to the PO Box 180593, Tallahassee, FL 32318 or dropped by Claire’s house at 3319 Dartmoor Drive.
Secretary-Treasurer Claire Mazur presented the 2020 report of expenses. The 2020 expenses of $16,720 were under the 2020 budget of $18,100. Cash on hand totaled $1,971, plus a contingency account balance of $18,671. She then presented the proposed 2021 budget of $19,800, based on $165 per lot income. The proposed budget keeps total expenditures at the same level as 2020 in the supplies, utilities, and miscellaneous categories. Proposed expenses were increased to $10,650 in the maintenance and beautification category in order to increase weeding and other work on the islands. The proposed budget was accepted.
Jim Mann also presented information about maintenance and beautification, highlighting the success of the project to move sprinkler heads to avoid damage on the islands. In addition, he reported that the island maintenance vendor was continuing to work out well and we will continue working with them. Jim mentioned an ongoing issue was the damage to the island on Rutland Loop, which the board is working to resolve.
The board members for 2021 will be unchanged from the current membership; this was approved.
