LINENE WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER

July 2018

COVENANTS REVITALIZATION NEEDS HOMEOWNERS CONSENT

The Florida Legislature passed a law that affects all homeowner associations. As a result, we must “revitalize” (renew) our Covenants and Restrictions documents. This requires a majority of the homeowners to agree. There is NO change to the documents except to replace reference to the original developer with reference to the Association.

You will shortly be receiving a packet of documents (hand delivered where possible) that will include an explanatory cover letter plus the Covenants, the Articles of Incorporation, the By-laws, and a consent form. The Board asks that you have the form filled out and signed by all persons listed on the deed. Then return the form by July 31 via postal mail or as an attachment to an email.

Thank you for taking care of this important administrative matter.

DAMAGED SIGN AT LOCKSLEY ENTRANCE TO BE REPAIRED

A few months ago the neighborhood sign and supporting brickwork at the Locksley entrance were damaged by a drunk driver. We filed a claim with the driver’s insurance company and are awaiting settlement to get the sign repaired.

APPROVAL PROCESS FOR TREE REMOVAL

Protecting the trees in Linene Woods is important for preserving the natural wooded look that our homeowners prefer. That’s why removal of trees above a certain size needs to be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). The Covenants state (Article IX) that no large trees of any kind measuring four inches or more in diameter at a height of four feet shall be cut or removed without written approval of the ACC. An exception is any tree located with ten feet of the main house. If you need to have a tree removed (damaged, diseased), contact Steve Halleck, chair of the ACC, at 553-4144.
